new in: spring shopping

Howdy lovelies! I hope you're doing well!

TGIF again, even thought I'm also a little worried about how fast the weeks are going! I've got anymore 89 days (yes I have it on dreamdays) before my flight will leave at 7 am to Paris and then to Ecuador! Okay I know that 89 days is a long time, but at the moment I'm just really confused/amazed/sad about the fact that the first year of high school is going to be over in a week, especially since I'm not coming back to school next fall. Luckily I'll be there the year after that and no, I wouldn't let go of this chance for anything, but it is still a bit sad. But otherwise life's not sad at all! We're finally getting the weather here inthe North as well, I've officially opened my summer clothes season. The sun is shining and I've got three exams left anymore and I'm thinking aboiut baking a mudcake, so life's going well over here. Tho something's not going as aoriginaly planned - I did plan to have a shopping strike (for two reasons: 1. even after my fleamarket goodbyes I don't have that much extra space in my closet and 2. I'm propably going to shop in Ecuador because my style might change a lot and I don't really know what to pack, so it would be stupid to buy tons of clothes just for the summer and then leave them in the closet for a year) but it hasn't gone so well.. So I came up with a new plan; shopping critically. I've done way too many mistake shoppings in my life so now when I see something I like, I leave it in the store, and if I see myself thinking about it still days after that and if it's something I actually need or atleast know that I'll use a lot and pack with me to Ecuador, I go and buy it. It's still a little far from shopping strike, but it's gone well so far! Atleast I'm really happy with these spring finds! What do you think?

/ Moikka ihanat! Toivottavasti teille kuuluu hyvää!

Jes että on perjantai, vaikkakin samaa aikaa hirvittää miten nopeasti viikot on mennyt! Mulla on enää 89 päivää ennen aamu seitsemän lentoa Pariisin ja sieltä Ecuadoriin! Okei joo 89 päivää on tosi pitkä aika, mutta se fakta että lukion eka luokka on meiltä ohi viikon päässä on kyllä ainakin super outo/jännittävä/surullinen. Varsinkin kun en tule enää syksyllä takaisin. Tokihan palaan sitten vuoden päästä, mutta oudolta ja haikealta se silti tuntuu. Muuten onneksi elämä ei ole haikeaa ollenkaan, aurinko paistaa, kokeita on enää kolme jäljellä ja ajattelin tästä mennä leipomaan mutakakkua, joten elämä hymyilee! Pitää tosin sen hymyn takaa paljastaa että shoppailulakko suunnitelmani ei ihan pitänyt. Lakon oli tarkoitus pitää huoli pankkitilistä, siitä juuri sopivasta tilamäärästä joka nyt kirppisoperaation jälkeen vaatekaapista löytyy ja siitä, etten osta turhia ostoksia kesäksi vain niiden jäädäkseen ensi vuodeksi Suomeen pölyttymään - Ecuadorissa tulee nimittäin todennäköisesti shoppailtua kun tietää miten alueella kuuluu pukeutua ja mitä kaupoista löytyy, ja muutenkaan matkalaukkuun ei loppujen lopuksi mahdu kovinkaan paljoa! Mutta vaikka shoppailulakko ei ihan pitänyt, päädyin kampanjaan nimeltä kriittinen shoppailu. Elikkä jos löydän jotain mistä todella pidän, jätän sen kauppaan ja jos haikailen kyseistä kangaspalasta tai muuta houkutusta vielä muutama päivä myöhemmin ja se on jotain mitä todella tarvitsen tai ainakin jotain mitä tiedän että tulen käyttämään plajon, mieluusti myös Ecuadorissa, niin sitten vasta marssin takaisin kauppaan ja siellä kassalle. Ei vastaa ihan shoppailulakkoa, mutta on toiminut kuitenkin hyvin ainakin tään asti! Ainakin näihin kevätostoksiin olen tosi tyytyväinen, mitäs mieltä ruudun toisella puolella ollaan?

Howdy! Hope you've had a great Wednesday!  My week started well, on Monday I got to meet with Heidi Tuominen from Searching for the LBD , we had a wonderful sushi lunch and it was so great to meet her in person! She was so sweet to mail me and ask if she could meet one of her readers before moving to London, and I was happy to say yes! We did meet for about 5 minutes last summer at Ilosaari festival, but this time for a bit longer! Other wise I've just been studying and meeting friends, and yesterday we finally got to go pole dancing after such a long while. My muscles are going to remember this double lesson for the rest of the week but so is my happy mind!~ Spring is here and birds are singing and summer is coming, and I'm having a renew-my-closet-feeling. I want to go shopping so bad, and at the same time I also want to get rid of so many old clothes of mine! We'll be going to the Femmatori fleamarket and my plan is to carry a couple of bags there, this time I will be tough on my clothes! My shopping mood is flowery summery and basic at the moment. I'd like to change my rainbow-colored clothes into more neautral ones (even thought we all do need some rainbowy clothes as well), and I'd really need these basic items on my closet.

Heipsan! Toivottavasti teillä on ollut ihana keskiviikko! Oma viikkoni alkoi hyvin, tapasin maanantaina Searching for thr LBD - blogin Heidi Tuomisen ihanalla sushilounaalla. Hän laittoi ihanan yllärisähköpostin josko voisi tavata lukijansa ennen Lontooseen muuttoa ja minähän vastasin innoissani tietysti joo! Oli tosi kiva tavata ihan kasvotusten, ja nyt vähän pidempään kuin se viime kesän Ilosaaren 5 minuuttia. Muutoin olen vain tehnyt kouluhommia ja nähnyt kavereita, ja eilen kävimme pitkästä aikaa tankotanssimassa. Tuplatunti kyllä muistuu lihaksissa varmasti vielä viikonloppuna, mutta niin muistuu kyllä iloisessa mielessäkin! ~ Kevät on täällä, linnut laulaa ja kesä tulee, ja minulla on järkyttävä vaatekaapin vaihto hinku. Haluan niin kovasti shoppailemaan, ja samalla haluaisin myös laittaa puolet vaatekaapistani parempaan kotiin. Ensi viikolla mennäänkin Femmatori-kirppikselle, ja ajattelin nyt olla tiukkana ja tahdonvoimalla viedä sinne parikin kassillista tavaraa. Sitten voisin hyvällä omalla tunnolla mennä ostelemaan tilalle tällaisia ihana perus vaatteita, jotka ehkä oisivat hiukan neutraalimpi vaihtoehto (ei sillä ettäkö aikoisin luopua raitahousuistani saatika pinkistä t-paidastani, niitäkin tarvitaan!).

Alone at home

Hullo Honeys!

Soo it's Christmas time, a.k.a. the time of secrets. Secrets about the presents that are waiting inside the giftwrap, about the elves behind the trees looking for good kids and grandmom's secret planning of the Christmas dessert.

I personally always keep my presents as surprises until the very end (or, atleast try!) and I love the surprises myself as well, but there's this one secret that I don't think you would mind overhearing and that I would love to share with you guys. Self timer, that is.

I kept my blog as a secret from my friends for really long and even though that nowadays I share it with them, I still fel very shy about taking photos. I often ask my mom or my sister to help if I need outfit pics (which is part of the reason why I post them so seldom) and even then I feel kind of shy. Seriously, I don't know what is wrong with me! Or I do know, but I don't know how to fix it. Slowly but surely, I guess! And tips are appreciated ;)

But that brings me to the point. Since I prefer to not show my oh so professional poses in practise, empty street/house and a camera with self-timer is the perfect solution for me. Yes I know that this is totally what a blogger is not supposed to do and that pics taken by an actual person are a lot better and a lot more interesting, and if  happen to succeed with self timer I might not go shouting about it, but why bother. Most of my photos still are by  humans - or a sloth when I find one who could and would liketo take photos- , but sometimes I have to yell my battle shout, Go self timer!

The topic by the way also refers to the Alone at Home - movie, which is an absolute Christmas must-see! This year no less. But until waiting for it to show on TV I'm enjoying my Transformers advent calender and the christmas lights and smells and everything, I hope you are too! Have a wonderful weekend!

TALLY WEiJL SHOPPING LIST

Hullo Honeys!

You know how after a holiday week you just wish you had one more? That's exactly what it felt like when going back to school.. But seeing friends there is great, so there's a good side about everything, right!

Now it feels like the fall break was ages ago, even thought it's just been three days. Our trip to Germany went well and it wasn't at all what I excpected, more about that later! But to say something, we visited for example Cologne. It was a lovely town and the church was gorgeous and the chocolate museum definitely worth seeing (more about that also later) and the shopping street was great. Except, that I had time there only five minutes. Sigh. Those five minutes I spent at TALLY WEiJL, a store where I had some great clothes from (which I can't actually even remember at the moment, a tee? A dress?) and a store what we don't have here up North. And I had the right feeling about it, it was a lovely store! There's something for everyone - so don't turn away right after seeing the store window- and the prices are lower than in H&M. So, a heaven in other words! 

Buuut -I wish I didn't have to say so- I didn't have enough time to buy or even try anything. Yep. Nothing. It is a good thing as well, because that means that I've kept my shopping strike (don't buy anything you don't ACTUALLY need) for pretty long already. But still TW bothered my mind, so I went to their online store and had to make this collection of some of my favorite pieces from them. They're all something that I'd love to put in my closet right at the moment, and something that I'd love to wear at the autumny moment. There's sooo much more I'd like to have put in the collection as well, but here's what I eventually chose:

Tiiättehän sen tunteen kun loman lopussa aina haluaa vaan toisen viikon? Todellain koettu viime sunnuntaina. Mutta koulussa on kyllä ihana nähdä kavereita, joten hyvä puoli kaikessa eikö vaan!

Nyt tuntuu että syysloma oisi ollut ikuisuus sitten, vaikka oikeasti onkin kulunut vasta kolme päivää. Saksan reissumme meni hyvin, oli tosi erilainen kuin luulin! Lisää siitä myöhemmin! Sen verran kuitenkin sanon, että kävimme mm. Kölnissä. Se oli ihana kaupunki, tuomiokirkko upea, suklaamuseo tosiaan käymisen arvoinen ja ostoskatu oli oikein ilo silmälle! Harmi vaan että - en haluisi joutua sanomaan tätä- mulla oli aikaa kierrellä siellä vain 5 minuuttia. Nyyh. Tosin, tästä oli se hyvä puoli, että shoppailulakkoni (ei osteta mitään mitä ei oikeasti tarvita!) on nyt kestänyt jo melko pitkään!

Kyseiset 5 minuuttia vietin TALLY WEiJL:ssä, koska mulla oli muistikuva että sieltä oli munkin kaapissa jotain tosi kivoja vaatteita ja sitähän ei täältä pohjolasta löydy. En kerennyt ostamaan tai edes sovittamaan mitään, joten sen verran jäi kaihertamaan mieltä että päädyin heidän nettisivuilleen, ja päädyin tekemään tällaisen kokoelman joistakin lemppareistani. Valittavana oisi ollut vaikka mitä, mutta tässä mihin lopulta päädyin:
