Ciao! We had
a lovely weekend trip in Venice, the only sad thing was that we had to leave
from there! I’ve been there before but it was nine years ago and only for one
day, so it was great to be back and this time actually be old enough to
remember more than a gondola ride and buying my birthday present at a store
(those seriously are my only two memories from the trip, but they were pretty
memorable indeed). The weather was sunny and warm hot, and Venice was full of
life but never too crowded and as beautiful as ever! We visited the most
important tourist sights, enjoyed the ever-delicious Italian food (read: mostly
pizza) and gelato and saw many sides of Venice. I also got to meet my Italian
friends who live near Venice, it was great to see them after such a long time
and we had a lovely day together walking around the Venice – island, getting
lost, talking about everything and enjoying granita (a slush drink). We stayed
in Lido island in Hotel Villa Mabapa (you can soon read more about it and also the restarants we went to in a
createtrips travel guide that I’m working on with), but spent most of our time
in Venice island and also visited Murano island. Moving around happened by waterbuses and taxiboats, since most islands don't allow cars at all. All three islands are parts of
Venice, as well as 115 other islands. Lido is famous for its 12 km long beach,
which is the only beach in whole Venice. We spend our last day there lying in
the sun and swimming in the Adrian see, it was perfect because we didn’t have
time to properly enjoy a trip to another island before our flight, and beach
life has been greatly missed at least by me! I also went jogging two times, it
was a great way to see more of our host island (and to get rid of the energy
from the pizzas). On July 18th, Saturday, was the Redentore festival which is the celebration of Venice getting rid of plague 440 years ago. That day all the restaurants had specail 'partydinners', like ours at the hotel with 7 courses and lice music, and a firework how at midnight. During those 4 days I took about 400 photos, so choosing the best ones for this post seemed impossible because I wanted to show everything to you! I highly recommend Venice to everyone, Italy is always
wonderful. <3
Ciao! Vietimme ihanan viikonloppureissun Venetsiassa, ainoa
muuta saarta. Lido on kuuluisa 12 km pituisesta rannastaan, joka on ainoa hiekkaranta
koko kaupungissa.
saatua energiaa). Lauantaina 18. päivä oli Fete Redentore, eli Venetsian rutosta eroon pääsemisen juhla, jonka kunniaksi ravintoloissa oli juhlaillalliset - esimerkiksi meidän hotellillamme söimme seitsemän ruokaajin illallisen livemusiikin kera - ja keskiyöllä ilotulitus näytös. Kuvia tuli otettua vajaan 4 päivän aikana reilu 800 kpl, ja tähän postaukseen parhaiden valinta tuntui ihan mahodttomalta sillä halusin näyttää teille kaiken! Siispä jätän tekstit vähemmälle, tässä putkeen toinen oikein kuva painoitteinen postaus! Suosittelen oikein oikein lämpimästi Venetsiaa kaikille sitä
harkitseville, Italia on aina ihana. <3

DeleteDude this looks so awesome! I really want to go to Venice - definitely one thing on my bucket list! The photos are awesome, and I have to admit that I'm a little jealous of the quality your camera has at night - when the sun goes down my camera's shutter speed sucks. I'm actually going to Greece in... seven hours (!!) so I'll probably do the same thing as you, asI love travel posts (:
ReplyDeleteAlso, hey I'm back from not blogging for months, so sorry about that; but you can expect me blogging and commenting again like usual (:

Thanks a lot! :) I hope you get this one checked from your butcketlist soon! Oh haha thank you, I'll have to tell you the little secret about the night photos - self timer! ;) The quality is awful when I just try to click on the freaking button no matter what kind of settings I have on, but when it's put on something stable and then on self timer, there's actually a chance the photos might end up okay! :D I've always wanted to go to Greece, have an amazing trip! I'll for sure come and see your travel post from there :)
