summer trough iPhone

Moi!

This summer has gone soo fast! Well the time flies when you have fun, right? I've definitely had fun and hopefully you too! Here's an update of what I've been upto lately, what have you guys been doing?

On the second last school week we nineth graders went to Särkänniemi amusement park

And we had a class tournament (so we were the 'a-class girls obviously)

The school year was finalised with 9th graders dance

And on the graduation day we celebrated a little of the ending of my secondary school and mostly the graduation of my sister. We baked a lot and had about 100 guests coming so everything got eaten!

The holiday started with my school friends at Montturock, a free music event in my Town

Huge news! They opened a Burger King in Tuusula! So of course we had to go celebrate the opening

Me and my skating friend Aino went to the Magnum event where designed our own ice creams

I was 'tutoring' on a confirmation camp in Hungary with these other guys (one missing tought)

At the end of the camp we went to Budapest to visit sights and do some shopping

Our group was soo lovely!

On 17th of June I turned sixteen!

So I celebrated it with really simply with my friends

I spent a weekend at our summer cottage

Where we also celebrated midsummer, with the traditional bonfire

I stayed a few days at my grandparents where we tried baking different kinds of rubarb pies, yum!

On the confirmation day I went to help to the church and celebrate our 'little ones' with my graduation dress and green eye shadow for a change

Me & Kristiina went to Järvenpää to eat chinese buffet in Kin sushi, it was so good!

Me and my classmate met with our own confirmation camp friend in Helsinki  and ate a great salad buffet in cafe Jugend, I really recommend!

After that we went to see the transformers 4 with our classmate. I've also been to the movies to see Divergent & Maleficent with my friends, and of course did some shopping as well...

Last weekend was Summer Up! The biggest urban music festival in Finland

Happy festival life
dress - H&M

We tried this bull rodeo thing! Was so much fun, I stayed over there for 10 secs

On the second day we got more company and even better artistist plus this purple party thing ~ even more fun!

We saw the best Finnish (plus Sean Paul and Tinie Tempah) artists from the first rows

On Sunday we had a picnic in Helsinki (I found my new ice cream favorite, rocky road from ingman!❤️)

Of course I've had just some me time and the true holiday spirit as well, like yesterday

skirt - Bikbok, shirt - Bikbok, ballerinas - Vagabond

So now the summer (weather) has actually started also here and I'm gonna take all out of it! I'm leaving to my friends summer cottage in couple of hours and then on the weekend I'm going to Ilosaarirock, another music festival with my godparents family. So I should go packing now (and eat some breakfast, my holiday routines start a little bit later than normally..) , I hope that you're all having an amazing summer!

Love, Anna

50 years + a few weeks

Hi!

How are you?

I'm feeling great, the summer is coming and I have a lot of things coming and holiday waiting!

A few weeks ago my dad turned 50 years old. Obviously that's a pretty big age, so we threw him a party. Not any kind of party, but a surprise party! It was so cool to see his face when he walked through the door, completely surprised when we came from our hiding places.

Most of the guests were around the same age, but I decided to spend the evening behind camera and helping in the kitchen, and secretly laughing to the adults. Here are some pics from the night:

Moi!

My mom arranged there a wine expert who gave my dad a "blind wine tasting " test (he's a huge wine lover)

later on the evening this band with the coolest instruments ever came to play their set, they were really good!

half of the wines and such were put somewhere else, so you can just imagine how much of it my dad got...

the details of my outfit: ballerinas - Forever 21, earrings H&M and gold heart necklace I got as a 10th birthday present from my parents

like I said, I was behind the camera so my outfit picture had to be taken just with my phone.. Dress from some small store in Hawaii

On the next day, my dad's actual birthday, we went to a restaurant in Helsinki. It was really good, so I'll make a review post about it later.

Seuraavana päivänä elikkä iskän oikeena syntymäpäivänä menimme Helsinkiin syömään. Ravintola oli tosi hyvä, joten teen siitä arvostelu postauksen myöhemmin. Ihanaa viikonloppua!

Have a lovely weekend!

rockin' it

Hi people,
How are you?

I passed the hygienic test thingy today, it was awful but luckily over now! Tomorrow we'll have our spring concert with school and thought we're only gonna play the same songs we played in our own concert a month ago with our class, I'm really excited cause it's a lovely event and we're planning to eat sime pizza and dp stuff with our class while waiting for te concert to start. Hopefully everything will go well!

Moi kaikki, mitä kuuluu?

Suoritin tänään hygieniapassitestin, seli oli aikas kauheeta mutta nyt onneksi ohi! Huomenna meillä on meidän koulun kevätkonsertti. ;)

Ihanaa viikkoa!
Have a great week!

français & carelian pies

Salut mes cheries,

So back to last week. It was really interesting, which also made it so busy that I got a mental breakdown with lots of tears but yeah, up we go :D Here's my week through iPhone:

On monday I wasn't at school beacause I was playing in an orchestra concert. On Tuesday we french studiers made a trip to the institut français in Helsinki, I really liked to hear native french around me again (last time being the language course last summer) and also just liked the place, I'm definitely going to take the metro there some week to watch a free french movie on wednesday evenings.

The spring has finally gotten here, I even needed sunglasses!
Sunglasses- Pieces, shirt Veromoda, jeans Zara, scarf Pieces

After the trip and music lessons at school we had a girls' night in at my house, we cooked pizza and taco salad with my dancing team. It was great to spend time with them also outside of practises and performance trips, thought they're fun as well!

On wednesday I had a normal day at school and practises but on Thursday I was off school again, competing versus other schools in a sports event called Taisto. All of our night graders who had extra sports where there, but only me and my three friends had to compete. I did this very stupid mistake when it was my turn to represent our team and I'm still pissed off about it, but otherwise it was a great day!

On Friday then I left to Jyväskylä, where my granddad had his 80th birthday on Saturday. I baked a whitechocolate cheesecake and lemon curd to put between cookies and helped my grandma. It was really nice to see my relatives after such a long time!

My grandma's friend baked the carelian pies (the weird looking bread in the right corner) and they were so good with the eggbutter that I ate maybe twenty!

On the evening we went to a restaurant called Figaro, the food was delicious and the athmosphere lovely so I really recommend it, but the prices where a bit high for everyday occasions.

Dress- Bikbok, cardigan - Veromoda, ballerinas - Forever 21

On Sunday we saw my other granddad and drove home. I finished the best book I'ce ever read, the Fault in our stars by John Green. Like in the book Hazel thinks about An Imperial Affiction, I feel like it's kind of my thing and my special favourite but it's too good not to recommend to the whole world.

How was your last week? Hopefully it was great and this starting week would be as well!

keep it clean

Hullo people,

Long time no see!

As always, I've had a ton of things to do. This busy spring gave me an idea to make a post about "keeping it clean". And I mean keeping everything clean. So, life overall. Here are some tips to keep your life simple, happy and clean.

GO BUY A CALENDER

This is for me one of the best advices to remember. With a calendar (with enough space!) you can write everything down and that way avoid days when you're supposed to do five things at the same time. It also organizes your head, when your thoughts are nicely written down on a list instead of just being a huge mess in your head.

+ decorate your calendar! You will probably need it a lot, so if you've decorated it with inspiring texts and pictures, instead of giving you the "ugh the pages are already too full"-feeling it'll make you smile

LEARN TO SAY NO

Unfortunately the days last only for 24 hours. And no, you can't keep traveling from time zone to time zone forever. So it's just not possible to do everything. I still find this hard to believe as you may have realized from my 'busy busy' notes on the beginning.. But trust me, that makes me the best person to give this advice. My mom always says , "you have to say no every now and then" , and it's one of the best (and hardest) lessons she has taught me. Sometimes the things you'll have to say no to will be hanging out with friends or doing something what you really enjoy, but saying no is worth it, because you can't really enjoy anything if you keep thinking where you have to run in 5 min or where you should have been instead.
The same tip goes also for the things that 'you have to do'. It's great that you do what you're supposed to do and don't let people down, but too much is too much and even thought the others wouldn't get it that time, you have to take care of yourself more than from jobs etc!

DRINK LOTS OF WATER

Everybody knows it, but everybody forgets it. WATER WATER WATEER! It literally keeps you clean. From the inside and the outside, and it also helps you to stay awake. As most of you know, water's good for your skin and also body overall. Plus it gives you a nice refreshing feeling! And sounds weird but is true, Finland has got the best tap water so it's actually really good! ;)

EAT FRUITS ETC, AVOID SUGAR AND FAT

First of all this will keep your body healthy and your skin clean. But if you've ever eaten too much greasy food or chocolate or something, you know the kind of dirty feeling it gives you. I would Never say that people shouldn't eat anything sweet or greasy! No, not at all. I myself couldn't live without chocolate for example! But the point is with this one as well, that too much is too much. So if instead of ordering fast food you'll take a salad and instead of candies you'll eat for example grapes, you'll feel a lot cleaner. I don't know where it's based but it's true! The same works when you'll make for example banana pancakes (1 banana, two eggs, smash the bananas and mix with the eggs & fry) instead of s mufcake. If you really need it you'll have to eat some sugar, but you can choose which kind of sugar. Also when there's free dessert served, just because it's good -and free- shouldn't mean 'eat as much as you can'.

+ BUT don't forget the sweets and stuff, if you tell yourself it's all forbidden you'll just want it more and you'll just lose a good time of your life by missing the chocolate and Ben & Jerry's , and also it'll easily make you a bit angry.

DON'T USE THAT MUCH MAKE UP

It'll keep your skin a lot cleaner. You gotta let your face breath sometimes! Try not to cover your whole face with all kinds of foundations and powders all the time, trust me you don't need it, you're naturally beautiful! There's nothing bad at using make up , at least I love to add something to my face on special events or just when I feel like it (and even thought I don't wear mascara every day, I couldn't live without eyebrow fixing gel). But just make sure to wash your face properly and let it be free for some time!

GO OUTSIDE

You need fresh air! Step outside the door and maybe just take a walk and everything will seem a lot better and simpler. Your body needs it and your mind needs it. Specially when the sun is shining, take all out of it! If you have to stay inside for a long time, try to keep a window open occasionally.

DO SPORTS

The basic tip, but oh so important. The sports you do don't have to be running a marathon or going to the gym for 4 hours, but try to do a little something at least 5 days a week. Or maybe make a short walk outside everyday for example with yours or your neighbour's dog, bike instead of using car and choose the stairs over escalators. It all makes a difference. If your more the sports 24/7 type, you have to remember to keep free days! Don't stuff yourself with sports.

KEEP YOUR ROOM CLEAN

When your room is clean, your head is clear. Seriously, all the extra stuff on the table and the clothes lying on your chair also make your head messier. So try to keep it tidied up. Take off the dust and vacuum when need to, but in a way even more importantly put your things where they belong! And try to do it right away, so you'll save yourself from the huge cleaning operation. Small things matter, like putting your clothes to your wardrobe right away, rubbish to rubbish pin (be harsh!) , papers to their maps or in a fine pile and keeping your desk clear. I know that the stuff just comes from somewhere, but it'll also have to go somewhere and your desk/chair/bed doesn't have space endlessly.

+ if you just honestly can't put all your things where they belong right away, try keeping a secret space inside your wardrobe or a drawer or maybe a nice bag or box on the floor (or both). Keep it always empty and fill with stuff you just have to get hidden somewhere. But remember to empty it often enough! For example every second Sunday, so you'll remember to do it.

KEEP YOUR WARDROBE ORGANIZED

Us girls spend a lot of time staring at it. And trying to find something to wear. And most of the days it just feels that even thought the shelves are stacked up with clothes, there's nothing to wear. well a good tip for that is simply keeping your wardrobe organized. Keep for example t-shirts in one pile, summer shirts in one (or take them to the storage for the winter if that's possible) , sweaters in one pile, jeans in one pile (maybe even in order by the color) trousers in one pile and so on. This way you know where you can find. Plus by organizing your wardrobe you'll see how many lovely forgotten clothes you have! And maybe also how many not-so-lovely pieces you have -> the flea market awaits.

DON'T OVERTHINK

Nononono. Don't do it! Don't make your head one huge mess! It doesn't do anything good, you'll just use all your energy and happy mood in it. And it'll make you crazy. Things are a lot simpler than what they seem after overthinking everything. Don't make it all harder, let go of what's happened and keep all the thousands of options of what might happen only in you dreams (in the good ones).

BE OKAY WITH THE FACT THAT IT'S SOMETIMES COMPLICATED

Sometimes life just isn't so clean. (Like while reading this post, my word choices must be pretty annoying.. ;) ) Room is a mess, skin doesn't stay clean calendar's been too full since last year and most importantly everything just doesn't go how it was supposed to. And it'll make you crazy if you blame yourself for how everything's wrong. Things aren't that messy! And if they are, you just have to do something about it or do the even harder thing: be okay with it and move on. You don't have to be perfect and anything around you doesn't have to be perfect either. When you see that, everything becomes perfect.

So hopefully you'll find these tips useful! :)

Have a great week everyone!

Dubai

Hi!

Greetings from Dubai! I'm here spending our winter break with my family. I love this place, the weather is warm, the beach is lovely and the arabic athosmphere really interesting!

We've

- visited the world's biggest shopping mall, Dubai mall - you need to walk a lot because it's so huge, but it's definitely worth of that! In the picture is the mall's fashion avenue, the stores in that department were a bit too pricey for me but it was a cool area

- eaten libanonian dinner at a bazaar

- seen the view from the 123rd floor of thw world's highest building, Bjur Khalifa

- seen Serena & Venus Williams and some other famous tennis players like Caroline Wozniacki and Alice Cornet (I got her autograph!!) playing at the Dubai Duty Free tennis tournament

- chilled & swimmed at the pool, plus the smoothies here are so yummy, remember to taste every kind!

- tanned at the beach

We're staying at the Mövenpick Jumeira Beach hotel, the location is great and the service even too good! I really recommend both the hotel and Dubai overall!

All you scandinavian people I wish you a great winter break and everyone else a great weekend!

travel diary

Hola!

Que tal? I hope you're doing fine!

I came back from Spain last weekend, this week has gone pretty much with catching up with school. Going back to normal was a bit of strange, but it was great to see my class again (especially now since we know we're going to go separate ways in less than 6 months, we're actually realising it and trying to take the best out of the last months together). Still I'd like to go back though..

we started the trip in Alicante with the most Spanish food, paella

palm trees ♥

with Alba, my host sister ♥
we spent Thursday in Murcia, visiting the cathedral and the clock tower and just wondering around the town

it was a school trip so of course we had to do some presentations etc, as well, so we spend Friday at the school. We finished the working day with singing Some Nights as a thank you for the amazing week

after school we went shopping (for example Primark, which is heaven for as Finns cause we don't have it in Finland) and later for dinner and then to some kind of a bar. Here's our Finish group with our new Italian friend

Alba's aunt & cousin took me to the beach of Cartagena on the last day

Here's the whole gang. The project included students and teachers from Italy, Holland, Turkey, Germany, Finland & Spain

We had an amazing week with amazing people, enjoying the sun and the town. We made so lovely new friends who I hope to stay in touch with still after many years!
